Warriors of the Heart
The ‘Warriors of the Heart’ programs grow out of a desire to reclaim the Warrior archetype as a positive symbol of our capacity for Loving action. The Warrior is too often seen as a macho fighter getting the job done but leaving destruction in his wake. We want to choose instead to embody the Warrior as a vessel for courage, dignity, and fierce compassion. In the words of Erica Jong:
"Many people today believe that cynicism requires courage. Actually, cynicism is the height of cowardice. It is innocence and open-heartedness that requires the true courage - however often we are hurt as a result of it."
Courses:
Warriors of the Heart - Foundations
This 1 day workshop explores what it is to be a warrior in the modern world, our stories about it and the true courage that lies in ‘vulnerable strength.’ Learning and playing with basic embodied practices drawn from traditional martial arts, and exploring the Warrior Leadership philosophy.
Warriors of the Heart - Deepening
This 2 day workshop moves deeper into embodied ‘Warrior Practices’, and grounds you in the warrior philosophy to help you make more conscious choices about how you step out in your life. This is the essence of responsibility: response-able, or 'able to respond' as opposed to reproducing habitual reactions to what life throws at us.
