Fudoshin Development

Fudoshin: A constant heart in changing times

Fudoshin Development is an organisation offering a range of methods for personal and spiritual development for individuals through classes, individual tuition, and public workshops; and for other organisations through tailored programs.

‘Fudoshin’ is a Japanese word which means ‘immovable spirit’. This is the principle which underpins all our work: the journey to contacting and living from the unchanging heart of our being. Connecting with this immovable spirit, allows actions to flow naturally.

Fudoshin Development was founded in 2009 by Rev. Francis Briers who is an Interfaith Minister, martial artist, teacher, facilitator and coach. While Francis has been designing and delivering workshops, and working with individuals in a number of settings for over 10 years, he wanted a community, an organisation within which he could work with like-minded, like-hearted people to offer courses focused around the warrior archetype, deepening into the soul, and heart-centred living.
The modern world can be a confusing, frightening, and isolating place to be, in spite of, and sometimes because of all the information and means of communication available. We want to help people to feel more empowered, connected, centred and loving in the face of whatever life has to offer. We provide environments where people can grow and learn through supported exploration so they can step forth like warriors: sword at their hip and sun on their back - prepared and blessed for their personal adventures.

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."  - Howard Thurman
